Persistence of Time

I’d love to say “Happy New Year my hard rawkin’ amigos… and welcome to the dawn of 2024!”, but it’s fecking MARCH already and we’ve had a past six months of ups, downs, roundabouts, and more… but we’re on the cusp of the start of another year of gigging for me and the lads in our wee Scottish Anthrax tribute band, so let’s crack on with me waffling for a bit on what’s been happening.

It’s been almost SIX MONTHS since we last took to the stage for an absolutely blinding Wee Four gig at the tremendous Brickyard in Carlisle. It was a fitting end to some stupidly good gigs for us in 2023, as we once again joined our mates in Metal Militia, Megadeth UK, and Live Undead.

Then, as with all things in this business where the band is a hobby for us more than anything, life got in the way in a most spectacular way. There’s been a little bit of everything thrown into the mix outside of band life that’s meant we’ve had nowhere near as much studio time as we’d like, including us having to pull out of our first gig of 2024 last month… yep, life indeed never stops.

We had been looking forward to sharing the stage with Hotter Than Hell in Edinburgh in February, but sometimes music has to take a back seat while everyday life takes priority. We’re absolutely gutted to have missed being back in Edinburgh, especially with such an amazing KISS tribute, but such is life, and family are always first and most important above all else.

But I’m glad to say that we’re now, fingers and toes crossed, in a better place, and ready to kick off 2024 with a new city and new venue for us to visit. Our first gig of 2024 proper sees us travel on down to The Saddle Rock Bar in Chester, a place we’ve heard nothing but good things about, so naturally we have lofty impressions for all you metalheads in that area to come down and Bring The Noise on Saturday 23rd March for a full night of Anthrax hits across Turbin, Belladonna, and Bush eras.

After that, we return to Wakefield for another Wee Four event, this time with Moretallica taking on the Metallica tribute duties alongside ourselves, Megadeth UK, and Live Undead. We had an absolute blast last time in Wakefield, dampened only by a mix up with accommodation meaning we had to drive back home that very night when we really wanted to stay and party!!!

Following that we have an AWESOME Clash of the Titans event in Rebellion in Manchester, another new place for us to visit, and a first time try of this brilliant bill from 1991. Hell, we have even managed to grab ourselves an Alice in Chains tribute too for that one with Angry Hair opening the night.

The second half of the year does not STOP with awesome bills as well. A return to Trillians in Newcastle, which is always awesome. A new stop at Worksop in the Dukeries Brewery with our mates in Pantera tribute, Hellbound, before we bring the year to a close in November, back in Glasgow with another Wee Four stonker

Yep, 2024 may have started with a bit of a stall, but you have to remember, as much as we love this band, family will always come first. When we we take care of that, it means we can let ourselves give you the best performances of our lives. Every. Time. Guaranteed.

See you all down the front, and thanks as always for listening to me yammer on about this shit we love so dearly!
